About this fund

Whatcom EMS District 4 funds emergency medical services in the northwest portion of Whatcom County (overlapping but distinct from the countywide EMS service). Funded by a voter-approved EMS levy under RCW 84.52.069 (statutory maximum 50 cents per $1,000 of assessed value). Shows up as "EMS District 04" on tax bills.

Distinct from the Countywide EMS Fund 1240 which funds Advanced Life Support (ALS) across all of Whatcom County. EMS District 4 funds Basic Life Support (BLS) services in its specific district boundaries.
