About this fund

The Port of Bellingham's Industrial Development District (IDD), sometimes called the "New Whatcom Redevelopment" lid lift, is a separate property-tax levy authorized under RCW 53.25 to fund industrial-area redevelopment and environmental cleanup. The IDD funds the Port's redevelopment of the former Georgia-Pacific pulp mill waterfront — environmental cleanup, infrastructure, and site preparation for new mixed-use development.
